Valerie G. Whitfield

As a young person, I was always drawing, painting or creating 3D objects, until I discovered photography, graphic design, and printmaking. After university, I  worked in publications, marketing, sales, and operations management, and real estate brokerage.

In 2018 I decided to dedicate more time for art -- immersing myself in classes through Sawtooth School of Art, the Greensboro Arts Council, Creative Aging Network, and private instructors.  After a few years at a consignment gallery and studio in the Downtown Winston Salem Arts District, I now enjoy working in my home studio and being part of an active and creative  mixed media art community in the Triad.

Media include pastels; watercolor; pen & ink; acrylic;  paper; and printing techniques including dry point, wood cut, dark field monoprinting. Inspirations include nature, gardens, seascapes,  landscapes, architecture – and whimsy! See samples below.

I also do work on commission and will sell giclee prints of my originals which have already been sold. Please use the email button below to inquire or request my e-portfolio.

Prices range from $25-$250, cash and checks accepted.
